Thank you for signing up! There are different types of memberships to CAD for different needs. Please review the membership options and pick the one that matches you best!
Complimentary Member: Any person who is a resident of the State of California and who is eighteen (18) years of age or older is eligible to become a Complimentary Member of the Association, and there is no fee for this membership category. Complimentary members are welcome to attend all meetings of the Association, and receive updates and information on the CAD website. Individuals in this category are freestanding members and cannot serve an officer of the association, nor vote, unless joining the Regular membership status.
Regular Member: Any person who is a resident of the State of California and who is eighteen (18) years of age or older is eligible to become an Regular Member of the Association upon payment of membership dues. Individual members shall have voting privileges at the Board of Director meetings, and the State Conference. Individuals may serve in any appointed positions or on any committees.
BENEFITS:
Senior Citizen Member: Any resident of the State of California who is 60 years of age or older, or retired on social security or other pension, or receiving permanent disability payments for reasons other than deafness, is eligible to become a Senior Citizen Member of the Association. Senior Citizen Members shall have all privileges of Regular Memership. Individuals may serve in any appointed positions or on any committees.
Patron Member (HOP): Any person who is a resident of the State of California and who is eighteen (18) years of age or older is eligible upon payment of a CAD Patron contribution.
a. The CAD Patron members’ contribution shall be either a one-time payment or periodic payments within the two years time period between Association Conferences. b. The Patron members shall meet during the Conference and determine the amount of proposed CAD Patron contribution for the next-two year cycle. The proposal shall be brought to the Conference Assembly for a vote. c. All monies collected from the CAD Patron contributions shall go into a special fund: the CAD Patron Fund. d. The objective and usage of the CAD Patron Fund shall be for the operation and maintenance of the Association Home Office. e. By their contribution, the CAD Patron members, in addition to all privileges granted to regular members, are entitled to two years of Association membership, and special consideration during the next Association Conference. Specific entitlements shall be spelled out by the Board of Directors at the first Board meeting following every Association Conference.
All members, regardless of membership category, shall be persons who support the overall Mission f the Association, respect and use American Sign Language during business meetings, and as individual members of the Association.
