I would be glad if I can find out like there certainly are some way the deafs in San Diego could be helped through any program or organizations who may be offering to help the deaf find various opportunity opening or availables.

I am seeking help for my deaf friend Mavis Impett, age 74, who in the last few months suffered a minor stroke and memory loss/dementia. Then had surgery for a large cancerous ovarian tumor, and is now placed in an assisted living residence in El Cajon. Her only relative, son Gavin, lives in San Francisco and comes to San Diego only to tend to her affairs during this very confusing time. He is working on discontinuing her Kaiser coverage so she can use MediCare benefits to get at-home treatments. Our friend Shirley and I have been helping him and visiting her as she is very lonely and confused. I think she needs someone from the deaf community to help her and to communicate to the other seniors in this home. I live 55 miles north and our friend Shirley can visit more frequently, but she has a family to tend to also. Can you help us with this sad situation? Thank you. Rita Gray
