Hello, my name is Kavita Pipalia, California Association of the Deaf (CAD) President. This vlog is to announce that CAD is very excited to host CAD Conference 2019 in Sacramento in Northern California on September 12-14.
On Thursday (September 12), there will be a kick off with ASL Celebration to honor signed language, art, and please come to support ASL, Deaf rights.
On Friday (September 13), we will have Education Symposium focusing on education system and how we can transform our current system into a better one for our future Deaf children and to include diverse people like yourselves within the state of California.
On Saturday (September 14), we will begin with workshops through noon featuring different topics that relevant to our lived experiences provided by several presenters who are professionals in various fields. In the afternoon, we will have our business meeting including elections and reports on what CAD has been doing in the last two years.
During the evenings on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, there will be entertainment hosted by different Master of Ceremonies every night.
To attend all of the CAD Conference 2019 events, the registration cost is $250.00 and it will include breakfast and lunch, and nightly entertainment. If you do not want to attend the entire conference but are interested in attending some of the events, you can select from the individual packages that we offer.
The Thursday ASL Celebration event is during the day, and is free and open to everyone. The Thursday evening entertainment, however, will cost $40.00 and it will feature a DJ and other fun activities.
The Friday Education Symposium registration costs $125.00 and includes breakfast and lunch.
The Friday evening entertainment ticket is $40.00.
For Saturday, the registration cost is $125.00.
The Saturday evening entertainment ticket is $40.00.
