The Deaf community in California is celebrating a milestone! On September20, 2012, there will be a historical statewide celebration honoring ASL in Sacramento at the Capitol! CAD has collaborated with the National Association of the Deaf and World Federation of the Deaf, marking the 5th annual international Day of Sign Languages. In honor of this event, CAD and a coalition of agencies serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing have agreed to join forces toward the recognition of American Sign Language (ASL) as an official language in this state.
