Julie: “California Association of the Deaf (CAD) board members came together here in San Diego to create a new vision for next two years until 2017. The vision is the Californian dream for all Deaf Californians from womb to tomb, the full life span. This vision, which we will share with you, WILL happen!”
The scene fades back to the kitchen showing a bouquet of flowers and bananas. In the background, the CAD Board of Directors is seated around the kitchen table. They are eating while discussing variety of issues.
The dining room scene fades back to the outdoor where Julie stood. This time, it is a female presenting white person with long blonde hair, black and white dress with gray cardigan sweater. The graphics in upper left corner says “Secretary, Deanne Bray.”
“During Fall 2015, CAD hosted its conference. Deaf people who are CAD members throughout the state of California came to the conference. They shared ideas through their motions. There were a total of 25 motions. The members voted and passed eleven motions. During this past weekend, January 23rd, 2016, CAD Board members, both old board members (2013-15) and new board members (2015-17) met and discussed the eleven motions. Those motions were consolidated. At the end, we will focus on the top five motions, starting now until 2017. The first motion is a new and improved website which will be developed and run by Deaf professionals.

“The second motion is for CAD Endowment. As you may recall, CAD property was sold. The Board members decided (by voting) to establish an Endowment.”

“The third priority is to establish a think tank (task force) focused on programs and services provided for Deaf children from birth until the age of five (0-5).”
The scene of Deane fades back to the board members discussing at the dining table. Then it fades back to Deanne Bray:
“The fourth priority is to establish the employment task force to gather information about Deaf people’s experience with employment in California.”
The scene of Deanne fades back to the kitchen where the board members are lined up for brunch served by a Deaf caterer, David Prince. He is a bald white man with glasses. He is wearing a baseball shirt with pink trunk and gray sleeves. The brunch scene fades back to Deanne:
“The fifth priority is to establish a committee to push for standards for the hiring of ASL teachers in California.”
Again, the scene of Deanne fades back to the kitchen table where the board members are discussing about the endowment. This scene fades back to Deanne:
“With those five priorities I just presented to you, we are READY to proceed and work on them. If you want to be involved, come and make it happen!” Deanne smiles at the end. The scene of Deanne fades back to Julie.
